Thank you for your support and participation to Boston FCC's Holiday Charity eCalendar Raffle! February 4, 2021
We greatly appreciate your generosity and support as we adapted with the changing times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic to run this event. Our raffle calendar program was a great success due in part to you - our sponsors, industry supporters, as well as the many friends and family members associated with Boston Foreign Commerce Club board members.
A big thank you to the thirty-one sponsors who allowed us to distribute a total of $5,250 in cash prizes during the month of January. The winners have all been notified and were thrilled to receive their prize. What a great way to start the New Year! We would also like to give a special call-out to four calendar winners who graciously donated all or a portion of their prize money to various charities including The Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Boston. Thank you to Chris Garvey, Bernard Slowinski, Dennis Doherty and Mark Smolinsky.
There were many FCC members and friends that stepped up and purchased multiple raffles in December that were gifted to their employees and families - some of which actually became raffle winners. Our success selling the calendar raffles, allowed Boston Foreign Commerce Club to make donations to Toys for Tots, Dana Farber Cancer Institute / The Jimmy Fund and in the very near future to Shriner’s Hospital for Children – Boston. Our board members will be meeting later this month to select one more charity that we will contribute to. A more detailed summary of our support of the charities is listed below:
Toys for Tots - a $2,000 donation was made in December in addition to the in-kind donation from Little Kids in Seekonk, MA who provided a truck full of toys to Toys for Tots Boston office.
DFCI/Jimmy Fund - a $2,000 donation was made in December. The timing of our contribution enabled our year-end donation to be “triple matched” by VFW Lt. James A. Logan Post No. 6800.
Shriners Hospital for Children - Boston – a $2,000 donation will be made in February from FCC and an additional $1,000 donation on behalf of the generosity of four winners who donated their winnings back.
Congratulations to our winners!
We thank you once again for your support in 2020, and we look forward to sharing our ideas for events in 2021 with you soon.
In the meantime, please stay healthy and well!
